Preparing for your wax

Preparing for your wax

Do…

  • Grow hair out to between 1/2cm and 1cm long.
  • Exfoliate the day before waxing to remove any dead skin. (but not on the day of your waxing).
  • Wear loose comfortable clothing after waxing to avoid irritation caused by rubbing from tight clothing. We can also provide disposable underwear.
  • Make sure your skin is not irritated, inflamed, cut, infected, sunburnt or too dry.
  • Moisturise your skin on the days before, but do not apply moisturiser on the day of your waxing as it interferes with the wax.

Don’t…

  • Apply moisturiser on the day of your wax to the area being waxed as some moisturisers can interfere with the efficiency of the wax.
  • Exfoliate on the day of your waxing as this makes your skin sensitive and could cause irritation.
  • Get a wax when you have your period as skin becomes more sensitive during this time.
  • Sunbake or go swimming on the day of your waxing.
  • Exercise one hour before your waxing session.
  • Drink alcohol or stimulants like as coffee/caffeine before waxing.
